This page has been designed for people who may be exploring a move to Georgia, Maybe a move to Forsyth County. And you are wondering...

Will I find a functioning, robust Democratic Party organization?

About

The early days of Forsyth County Georgia are rooted in agriculture.  Like much of the rural  South, the economy was a challenge from the 1860's through the Depression Years of the 1930's.  The arrival of the chicken growing industry brought a new infusion of economy.

But unlike many rural counties, Forsyth sits near a city that had a roaring economic direction in the last half of the 20th Century:  ATLANTA.  In the 1950's the Corps of Engineers created a giant lake on the eastern border of the county.  In the 1970's this ribbon on concrete known as Georgia 400 was constructed.

Today Forsyth County continues to be highly influenced by the descendents of those hardy farm people who have lived here for up to seven generations now.  And they have been joined by "The Lake People",  those looking for family-friendly communities and schools within commuting distance of Atlanta Metro Area employment.  And they have been joined by entrepreneurs with their high-tech start-up companies.  And those early settler's families that tended to be heavily Scotch-Irish are today joined by peoples from the four corners of the earth.

The Farmer and the Little Girl parading in front of our County Administration Building in good weather and bad, remind us how we as a community pulled ourselves forward in the 20th Century.  The Democratic Party of Forsyth County stands as a reminder that many of the principles and policies that have made life good in this county were supported and implemented by Democrats.  It is our goal to continue providing leadership and influence to this county.
